A Happy New Year!
We had a large group – everyone braved the heat wave. The temperature reached 32C (90F)…. yes, hot!! The beacon is normally the hottest area in the nature reserve but fortunately enough it was not too bad due to a pleasant breeze.
We separated into our 3 groups (5k walk, 12K hike and 15H hike). We saw springbok, zebra and (just) one wildebeest. They all seemed relaxed surrounded by much grassland.
Following the hike/ walk some of us headed to the Kraal Restaurant at Thaba Eco Hotel for a pleasant social and a tasty meal.
Thanks to the co-Hosts Jan and Niren and thanks to all who attended the walk, hike and the lunch. We met friends and made new friends.
