Sunday Hike and Walk Klipriviersberg Johannesburg – 2 May 2021: a cool sunny day, friendly people and a good workout.
A cool morning 4-18C (39-64F), a cloudless sky and friendly people. We separated into 3 groups: 5K walk, 11K hike and a 14k hike.
Calories burnt on the 14K hike: 1248.
It was fantastic seeing wildebeest and zebra – apparently they had moved to greener pastures (literally) on the nature reserve but they decided to come back and put up a show for us🦓🦓
It was great meeting friends and making new friends. Thank you to all the participants who attended the walk and the two hikes and a big thank you to the hosts: David, Harry, Natasha and Sylvia. Thank you to Alistair, Tony and Sylvia for the photos. Most enjoyable🥾🚶♀️🚶♂️🌻🌞😎

When is the next hike. I would love to join.
We were the slowest in the group, many thanks to Tony and Natasha for their patience and tolerance for staying with us until the very end. I would definitely recommend this hike.
Hi Theona, we are delighted to learn that you are well and that you enjoyed the great outdoors with us. Do join us again but I suggest that you go for the 5K walk. It is a beautiful walk and you are in the company of Harry a great host and very knowledgeable of the Nature Reserve. Stay safe 😎
So cool that you saw zebra and wildebeest on your hike. What a life saver it is being able to get out and enjoy nature during these challenging times.
Thank you Caroline, it was a beautiful morning for hiking. Springbok were nowhere to be seen… hopefully next time. Absolutely fantastic being able to enjoy a couple of hours in the sun. Stay safe Caroline.
