Intro

Happy Spring everyone! Spring in the Southern Hemisphere begins on the 23rd of September but the weather is so good this time of the year that everyone in South Africa considers the 1st of September as the (unofficial) beginning of Spring😎😁🌞.

We had 12 – 26C (54 – 79F) and sunny. Does it get any better?

Great meeting friends and making new friendships. Amazing weather, awesome people and a great workout in beautiful surrounds.

We have dry winters so the nature reserve was brown and dry. There had also been controlled fires (you can see burnt grassland on some of the photos) and the green is starting to appear in patches. Once the rain arrives in summer the nature reserve turns green.

Thank you to all who participated and a warm welcome to all the newcomers. Thank you to Brian Gilder, David Goodman, Harry Meyer, Sylvia Vermaak and Tony Sousa for hosting. Photos courtesy of Chantal Noble, Sylvia Vermaak and Tony Sousa.πŸ“·πŸ˜ŽπŸŒžπŸ₯ΎπŸ‘’πŸŒ»πŸŒ²

Hiking celebrates life

Hiking becomes a way of life, putting one foot after the next a motto to traverse life’s obstacles. I enjoy the care and sense of inclusion Tony and Jason provide to all participants. My brother and I joined the 15 km group, as I love the red trail, but due to work obligations, we left earlier, completing just under 8km. As always, Kliprivier provides options for all levels of fitness with beautiful scenery. Meeting a variety of people makes the journey more interesting. Thank you for the photos πŸ˜ƒ

To put one foot in front of the other, that is what one does on a hike and that indeed is how life is. Thank you so much for your kind words Elzette and please do join us whenever you can. Keep up the good work!

Such a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Completed a 15km hike with Tony, Dave and Sylvia. What makes a great hike besides the beautiful scenery, are great hiking hosts. Tony and team are so warm and welcoming and very inclusive throughout the hike, thank you for the hospitality! Lovely hike, lovely people!

You don’t have to dri Kliprivier, located in South of JHB is ideal to enjoy a hike or leisurely walk! A stone’s throw away as it were! 😏

I’ve been hiking with Tony for close on to 6 years and there’s never been a dull moment! I look forward to the first Sunday of every month. While the Reserve remains the same, there’s always something different. The 11km, which I usually do is at good pace.. but I will admit Tony and Dave keep a safe eye on each member of the group. My last hike, which was only a 5km (I wasn’t feeling too well) was just as good. A huge thank you to Harry for the educational walk. I’ll recommend a hike on any given Sunday! Thank You to all..
