My 146K in the 2019 Concept 2 Fall Team Challenge

My 146K in the 2019 Concept 2 Fall Team Challenge

The Concept 2 Fall Team Challenge is a club challenge where club members try to reach either 100,000 meters or 200,000 meters by the end of the challenge.

The Ailish Sheehan All Stars Team was put together by Austin Milne as a tribute and in loving memory of his cousin Ailish Sheenan who passed away so young and so tragically following an accident after winning Bronze at the 2016 FISU World University Championships for Rowing in Poznan, Poland. She was only 23.

I would like to thank Austin for welcoming me in his Team and a special thank you to my rowing partner Daniel Kendall for his coaching and motivation. Daniel is an inspiration: at the time of writing he has so far clocked 463,469m (463 Kms). The challenge closes in 2 days’ time (on the 15th October) – knowing Daniel he will easily reach the 500k mark by then.

Congratulations to Daniel, Austin and to everyone in the Team. Our Team only had 13 rowers (11 participated) but there were 586 Teams with a total of 6618 participants from around the world who rowed a combined distance of 555 610 022 m (555610 Kms) – that’s a BIG number!!

What about me? I rowed 146 024m (146 Kms) in this Challenge (past 30 days) and I am very pleased about it.
