It was a cool and cloudy morning in Johannnesburg. There were 19 people in our initial group which was divided into the 11.5Km ‘fit’ group and the 13.5Km ‘super-fit’(?) group.
There was no rain all the way up to the Beacon. Soon after leaving the Beacon area a fine drizzle started which was followed by strong rain – the downpour lasted no more than 5 minutes and our clothing was dry in no time.
We saw wildebeest, blesbok antelope and springbok (quite a number of springboks). Francine had the knack of spotting the animals before anyone else in the group.
Following the hike, some of us drove to Thaba Eco Hotel for an enjoyable lunch.
We enjoyed each other’s company, the exercise, the big outdoors and the lunch. It was great seeing friends and making new friends. Thanks to all who participated. Thanks to Ilona and Niren for co-hosting.
Lot’s of great photos. Thanks to Billy, Francine, Ilona, Luc and Teresa for all the photos.
Have a great week and see you soon.
P.S. Just for your info, the milkshake group is still going strong!!
