Join us on our monthly 7 Km walk in beautiful Kensington, Johannesburg. You will do a good workout in the company of friendly people and in beautiful surrounds. Kensington is a treasure throve of heritage sites. This is a most enjoyable walk year-round. This event is free.

8 am on the last Sunday of the month.
Start and End
We meet in the parking area of Pastelaria/ Confectionary Princesa, 146 Queen St, South Kensington, Johannesburg, 2094. After the walk join us for brunch at Princesa.
Pace and Duration
Moderate pace. We do not run but we do not walk slowly. A degree of fitness is important as this is a hilly area. We do the walk in about an hour and a half to 2 hours.

Jeppe High School for Girls
Designed by Sir Herbert Baker. Opened in 1918.
Jeppe High School for Boys
Designed by Sir Herbert Baker. Opened in 1909 (9 years prior to Jeppe High School for Girls). The school was named after Julius Jeppe. Prime Minister Jan Smuts unveiled the Word War I Monument at the school.
The Scottish Horse Memorial
The Scottish Horse Memorial was erected in memory of the officers and men who died during the Anglo-Boer War in 1901-1902.
Built by Samuel Scott Wilson in 1911. Kensington Castle is a replica of the Rothesay-on-Bute Castle in Scotland.
Hilly, tree-lined in its entire length, Highland Road is a very pleasant road to walk, run and/ or cycle.
