Sunday Hiking and Walk – Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve – 5 Nov 2017
We had beautiful blue skies and the temperature gradually rose from 14C (57F) to 29C (84F). We separated into 3 groups viz: the 5K walk, 12K and 14K hikes. The Nature Reserve has become much greener and additional rain will certainly be welcome.
At one stage we were talking about how one can get rid of one’s beer belly so Elisabeth kindly volunteered and went through a couple of plank positions – refer images below. Planks are good but do hiking and rowing and you won’t have a beer belly.
We were fortunate enough to see some blesbok, springbok, wildebeest and zebra.
Thanks to all who participated and thank you to Jan and Niren for co-hosting. Thanks to Andrew and Michael for leading the 14K at various stages. Thanks to David for sharing the app: our group did 14,18 Kms in 3 hours 57 minutes. Well done guys! Apologies for the technical glitch with the calories counter.
We all enjoyed a good workout and social. Following the hike we headed for the Kraal Restaurant at Thaba Ya Eco Hotel for yet another delicious meal and a great social.
